14th Annual Cascade Zydeco Dance Camp

September 12 - 14, 2008

Enjoy a whole weekend of Brian Jack and the Zydeco Gamblers and professional dance instruction by Michael Seider and Flory Katz in the beautiful Mt Hood National Forest, only 55 miles east of Portland. This year's camp is being held at the Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp, a beautiful facility with comfortable lodges adjacent to the dining/dance hall, bathrooms in every lodge, hiking trails, ample parking, and NO clean up chores at the end of camp!

Free Zydeco lesson and CD dancing in Vancouver at the 15th St. Pub (15th & Main), from 7-9. Beginning lesson & CD dancing. Free. Taco Tuesday at the pub before 7, 2 tacos + 1 Pabst = $2.
April 9th
Leroy "The Pearl of the Bayou" Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners perform on Wednesday night at the PPAA Hall 618, SE Alder. Lesson 6:30 pm; Music 7:30 till 10:30 pm. Admission: $15 general, $13 CZ members.
May 7th
The Fabulous Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band perform at the PPAA Hall 618, SE Alder. Lesson 6:30 pm; Music 7:30 till 10:30 pm. Admission: $15 general, $13 CZ members.

May 17th

Save Saturday, May 17th, for a great dinner dance, a fundraiser for St Andrew & St Charles Parishes. This supports their youth who volunteer in New Orleans to plaster, paint & help mend Katrina's damage.

Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble return for a Wednesday performance at the PPAA, 618 Alder St. Portland.  Potluck dinner too. Time: 7:30 - 10:30.  Admission: $15 general; $13 for Cascade Zydeco members.
July 3-6
Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, including live zydeco bands and dancing. Mark your calendar for Zydeco Saturday on July 5th and the evening of July 4th as well. Announced performers include Chris Ardoin & Nu Step, Rosie Ledet and the Zydeco Playboys, Cedryl Ballou and the Zydeco Trendsetters and Dikki Du & the Zydeco Krewe, plus Zydeco Sunday afternoon to be announced.
